WALID BOUDHIAF
“When I hold my breath and leave the surface of the sea, a whole universe opens up to me. A world of infinite possibilities, where my own limits vanish. I melt into the liquid element and become one with the water.
Whatever the objective, my body adapts to it and draws on the resources I need to accomplish my mission. Freediving has enabled me to overcome my weaknesses, by understanding how our bodies and minds work. It helps me feel how strongly and intrinsically connected we are to the ocean and its inhabitants.
This fascinating journey is what motivates me to go ever further, to dive ever deeper, both inside myself and at sea.”
GUILLAUME BOURDILA
“I’m one of the best indoor (pool) freedivers in the world. After only 3 years of practice, I became world champion in 2018 in Lignano and broke my first world record.
I was a top-level gymnast (2002-2005), then a regional climber (2015), and now I’ve tried my hand at freediving.
In 2020, I turn to the sea and the abyss. I joined the French team in my second year.
I’m extremely happy to be part of Team Abyss! For me, team spirit is fundamental, and it’s thanks to this that we’ll go on to win even more titles.”

EDDY LAFFIN
“I’m a product of my time: a conflict between a generation that obtains through self-sacrifice and the next that seeks fulfillment.
It wasn’t until I was 30 that I discovered this fascinating world. Before freediving, I travel the globe, meeting new cultures and people. Because I like to pass on my knowledge, I give courses in a variety of disciplines and practice skydiving, motocross, yoga and meditation.
When I discovered apnea, I rethought my life. I redefine my personal, sporting and professional goals. I embark on a journey of personal development, shaping a personality that will serve me in the deep as well as on the surface.
As a coach and trainer, my sensibility and track record today make me an ideal partner for a sponsor keen to provide experiences for its teams and customers.”
MATHIEU MARAIO
“For over 10 years, I’ve been traveling the world to train, compete and share my passion, in particular by teaching swimming and freediving.
Over the years and through all these trips, I’ve learned a lot about myself. My career is not only expressed in numbers, it is above all a human adventure and an apprenticeship. Training allows me to adapt my body and mind to the depths of the ocean for a moment suspended in time.
In 2020, I reached the mythical 100-metre depth mark, propelling myself with my monofin.
It’s a demanding discipline that requires rigorous physical and technical preparation. But the real challenge at these depths is mental.
Being perfectly relaxed, focused and determined in the face of a challenge that can be stressful. Born in the Paris region, my passion for water began at a very early age. At the age of 4, I took my first dips in the pool and already loved being underwater.
20 years later I’m a Paris firefighter, specializing in aquatic operations and working mainly on the Seine.
As you can see, water has always been an important part of my life. Through her contact I was able to develop and understand the art of breathing and all that goes with it: relaxation, well-being, letting go, surpassing oneself, self-knowledge….”

STÉPHANE TOURREAU
“A freshwater, mountain fish that has migrated to the sea to be reborn in the depths. Life before freediving was full of difficulties and lack of self-confidence, but that was the beginning.
Water has been with me since childhood and has become my teacher, teaching me to let go, to live in the present and to refocus on myself.
The second step is to share this experience with as many people as possible, a second victory that motivates me even more to pursue this quest.
If we agree to no longer resist the depth but to accept what is as the pressure we are under then we become one with it in every situation.”
